RESTAURANT MAXIMUM CAPACITY
Hello John,
The maximum occupancy of the building is not set by the parking, rather by net square footages of the different spaces in the building (ie: kitchen, storage, dining, etc.)
The fire Marshall has the last word on occupancy. But When I ran the numbers on our restaurant scheme I got the occupant load as 615 people.
The parking required is derived from the square footage of the building as a whole (gross). I have the required spaces for this building as a restaurant as 147 spaces.
The parking scheme I drew up shows 115 spaces; but it doesn’t show parking in front of the building, under the porte-cochere, or in the back were the existing trees are. And, there are no compact spaces shown; they are all full size.
thanks,
-james
